Joe & Linn Falvey
Linn and I have always been active in local church ministry. Together we have served in youth ministry and I have served as an elder, counselor, and small group leader. Linn thoroughly enjoys involvement in worship ministry as a violinist in string ensembles. We deeply appreciate our church’s missions focus and intergenerational emphasis.
We grew up in South Jersey although Lancaster has been our home for the past 30 years. Married in 1973, we have one daughter, Janel, who is a counselor and licensed therapist.
I have an MA in counseling from Denver Seminary. In addition to counseling agencies, I have worked in church ministries, as a rescue mission chaplain, Christian-school guidance counselor, and as a caseworker for Lancaster County. Linn has used her BA in Art Education, teaching in both public and Christian schools and currently in a retirement facility. We both enjoy the arts, antiquing, historical places, and the beach. Most of all, we enjoy being with each other.
We’ve been serving at Abundant Living Ministries since 1994. We are always thrilled as we see couples experience healing and renewal in their marriages. We all enter marriage as imperfect individuals. Christ is the only truly firm foundation for marriage and we know He rebuilds our flawed foundations when there is a willingness to assume personal responsibility for failures and as we continue practicing forgiveness. Relating to younger couples is always enjoyable as we do most of the premarital counseling here at ALM, encouraging healthy, Christ-centered marriage!
Linn and I have a special text that we have claimed for our family: Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity…”
